Description

Established in 2005, the Hong Kong Model United Nations Club (HKMUNC) aims at promoting MUN culture in the region, promoting world peace through understanding and cooperation between cultures and arousing youth attention on global issues.

The annual Hong Kong Model United Nations Conference is a 3 day conference that regularly attracts more than 200 local and overseas elites from different institutions. Throughout the years, over 2,000 university students have joined the conferences and have brought the expertise gained from our MUN training to overseas college conferences.

HKMUNC 2020 aims to nurture future leaders in society by enhancing students’ critical thinking, presentation and negotiation skills as well as their interest towards global affairs. Details of the conference are as follows:

Duration: 9th-11th January, 2020 (Thu to Sat)

International Blockchain Olympiad is a multidisciplinary design competition that invites students from around the world to apply blockchain and cryptography for solving real-world challenges.

The Hong Kong Blockchain Society  will be organizing a series of blockchain training workshops for students who are aspired to work in the FinTech, blockchain or cryptography solutions industry. Both undergraduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines are welcome.

BC 101:  Blockchain & Cryptography

This course is an introduction to the fundamental building blocks of blockchain from high-level first principles and concepts: hash function cryptography, digital signatures, public-key cryptography, distributed computing, distributed ledgers, consensus protocols, smart contracts, privacy-preserving cryptography.

BC 102:  Blockchain Business & Legal

This course covers the legal and compliance issues, risks, and mitigations for designing, launching, and operating an application using blockchain and cryptography. Explore from high-level some of the major use cases for applying blockchain and cryptography, especially in government, health, finance, and supply chain. A brief look into the failures of early blockchain networks, services, and businesses.

BC 202:  Asset Tokenization & Digital Flat

This course extensively explores the concept, need, importance, and future of digital identity, a fundamental aspect of digital transactions which ensures integrity in connecting the physical and the digital world. Deep dive into how a legal entity may prove its own identity and check those of other parties, via unique, verifiable, and authentic digital identity. Discuss and compare the various approaches to create a digital identity. Scrutinize the challenges of creating, deploying, and servicing digital identity. Investigate the impact of personal data privacy regulations such as the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for blockchain. Take a glimpse of some advanced cryptography — zero-knowledge proofs, ring signatures, secure multiparty computation, homomorphic encryption, and proxy re-encryption — and explain how they are used in conjunction with blockchain to address privacy issues arising from digital identity.
