Description

Humanitarian Affairs Asia will co-host the 11th University Scholars Leadership Symposium 2020 with the Government of Malaysia. The symposium aims to gather young leaders from around the world to foster a new perspective and unite a global understanding on social change.

The symposium features keynote speakers, networking sessions and interactive workshops to prepare and empower young leaders to be an agent of change.

The symposium aims to:

  • Encourage delegates to think about Social Issues that the global community faces today, and to apply critical thinking towards building sustainable solutions to these challenges.
  • Accelerate delegates’ Global Track through exchange of cultural experiences with emerging global leaders from more than 87 countries.
  • Develop Compassion and Empathy by participating in the Service Day during the week-long conference.
  • Enhance Global Leadership Experience by bringing together passionate and aspirational young people led by speakers from around the world to explore the issues shaping our planet and our future.

Tthe 11th University Scholars Leadership Symposium 2020 will be held from August 1 to 7 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

For more details, please refer to the brochure.

Application Interested students could write in to USLS for ideas on self-funding to support your participation at the summit. Please complete the delegate form and send to USLS@humanitarianaffairs.org.

Description

The Outstanding Service Awards for Tertiary Students (“Award”) were introduced in 1991 to recognize tertiary students with outstanding leadership and significant contribution to the community. The award selection is co-organized by the Hong Kong Student Services Association (“HKSSA”) and the Hong Kong Outstanding Tertiary Students’ Services Association (“HKOTSSA”). Around 20 students are selected each year.

● Proven record of leadership experiences and organizational skills;
● Outstanding contribution to fellow students, schools/institutions and/or the community;
● Active participation in extra-curricular activities; and
● Satisfactory results in public examinations and current academic studies.

此活動由香港胸肺基金會、香港胸肺學會及美國胸肺學院 (港澳分會)合辦,主題為「無煙清新 健肺開心」,希望透過參與有關比賽,以增強同學對反吸煙的意識,提議日常健肺小貼士例如多做運動、多認識胸肺疾病如哮喘和肺癌等,並期待他們上傳有關whatsapp 貼圖去關心家人、朋友,傳揚無煙及健肺生活。

作品要求及形式
  • 參賽設計須符合「無煙清新 健肺開心」的主題,以具創意和新穎的方式呈現,並可加入富本地色彩的文字或圖像,及可在 WhatsApp日常溝通時使用
  • 參賽設計須由圖畫及(或)文字組合而成,文字應為中文及(或)英文。參賽作品須含一組5至10張貼圖,貼圖不得重複及採用自拍圖像
  • 每名參加者只限遞交一份作品。參賽作品須以 ZIP或RAR壓縮檔案將全組貼圖以單一檔案提交,每個貼圖不大於 512 x 512 像素及容量不多於100KB,全組貼圖總容量不多於 1MB

Established in 1974, Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association (HKNGCA) is a government-recognized charitable organization. Since our establishment, we have been upholding the values of “Vision, Innovation, Erudition and Responsibility” and committed to nurturing young talents. We offer services and programs for students and teachers in Hong Kong in a wide variety of areas, including science and innovation education, liberal education, national education, leadership training, teachers’ support, civic education, and innovation and entrepreneurial support.

In our sixth annual competition, the winning innovation projects will continue to represent Hong Kong in the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest which is recognized as the "China youth innovation and entrepreneurship Olympic" while the winning entrepreneurship projects will enter theChina College Students' "Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and/or the ChuangQingChun China College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, which are known as "the best and biggest roadshow platform worldwide" and the “the biggest platform of Chinese young entrepreneurs” respectively.

Innovative Water Efficient Showerhead Design Competition

Description

To encourage Hong Kong citizens to cherish water in daily life, the Water Supplies Department (WSD) has officially launched the “Let’s Save 10L Water” Campaign since early 2014 to call for the public to actively reduce their daily domestic water consumption by 10 litres or more and establish water saving habits. With the great support and participation from the public, the Campaign has succeeded in raising social awareness on cherishing water resources. To sustain the Campaign spirit and further raise public awareness on water conservation, WSD now launches the “Let’s Save 10L Water 2.0” Campaign to promote the culture of cherishing water to all walks of life by organising a series of activities.

The average daily domestic fresh water consumption per capita in Hong Kong is about 130 litres and most are consumed for bathing. Apart from taking a quicker shower to reduce water consumption, shower with a water-efficient showerhead is a more effective and eco-friendly way to reduce water consumption. “Innovative Water Efficient Showerhead Design Competition” (the “Competition”) is one of the significant programmes of the Campaign, which is also the first eco-friendly showerhead design competition in Hong Kong. WSD strives to gather innovative showerhead designs through the Competition to inspire the contestants and the public with new ideas on water conservation and promote the use of water saving devices. Using water efficient devices allows one to enjoy shower and make an effort in environmental protection by saving water at the same time. Water saving is just that easy!
